The University of Western Ontario

The University of Western Ontario (Western) is one of Canada's leading research-intensive universities. A degree from Western is highly respected and internationally recognized: Every year, Western welcomes more than 2,000 international students.

Western's 30,000 students can choose from over 200 different undergraduate and graduate programs in 12 faculties. English, Film, French, Philosophy and Visual Arts as well as Law, Dentistry and Business are examples of the university's diverse offerings.

Students who prefer a smaller, more intimate learning environment can choose from three affiliated colleges, all located on campus:

  • Brescia University College is Canada's only university-level college for women. Brescia is a Catholic college, however, students from all nationalities, faiths and perspectives are welcome.

  • Huron University College is a dynamic liberal arts university and theological college. Undergraduates experience personal attention from faculty, a warm campus community and the pursuit of academic excellence.

  • King's University College is a Catholic, co-educational, liberal arts university college. Small classes, intensive student/faculty interaction, quality programs, comprehensive student services and a sense of community create an excellent environment for students. More than 92% of King's graduates find jobs in less than six months after graduation.

From its gorgeous campus to its renowned programs, the university provides the country's best experience for students. Western has a lot to offer beyond academics. You will have access to sports facilities, intercollegiate athletics, a bus pass for public transit, child care facilities, bookstores, student health services and dental clinic, restaurants, art galleries, film theatres, campus residences and much more.

One of Canada's oldest and best universities, Western's first students graduated in arts and medicine in 1883. Located on 155 hectares of land along the banks of the Thames River in London, the campus boasts beautiful limestone buildings and spectacular grounds -- an ideal setting to obtain a post-secondary education.
