School Life

1. Learn English
Although Canada has two official languages, English and French, the vast majority of people in London and Middlesex County speak English. Several locations in London and Middlesex County offer part-time, full-time, evening or Saturday classes to improve your English. Most classes run for six weeks. New classes are always beginning. You can start at the LINC Assessment Centre at the London Cross Cultural Learner Centre. Or, visit English as a Second Language (ESL) and Other Language Training Programs for a comprehensive list of programs in the area. Free classes are available for children enrolled in the public schools system.

2. Children
Canada has a wonderful public education system that provides free education to children from six to seventeen years old. London and Middlesex County are served by four well-respected school boards that provide junior and senior kindergarten, elementary or secondary education. Some schools offer French immersion, programs for exceptional and special needs students, adult education and English as a second language. 3. Adults
London and Middlesex County offer some of the best post-secondary educational institutions in the world, including The University of Western Ontario, Fanshawe College and a London campus of Collège Boréal.

4. Continuing Education
Many adults are committed to lifelong learning. Many schools offer continuing education for adults. In London, you'll find a wide variety of part-time evening or weekend courses in professional development, computer education, languages and arts, science and social science, as well as diploma and certificate programs.
