There are a variety of organizations, services and programs in London and Middlesex County that can help you when you first arrive. You can also get assistance with settlement concerns such as housing, health care, education, and employment.

Our region also offers great opportunities to connect with other people from your place of origin or from similar ethnic or religious backgrounds. We have many cultural groups and associations, neighbourhood services, community centers and local ethnic news media.

• Cross Cultural Learner Centre - provides initial settlement services to all new immigrants and refugees, including help finding local medical, educational and social services
• LUSO Community Services - Newcomer Settlement Program - provides services to newcomers and refugees who have been in Canada for five years or less; get help finding housing, health care, education, social assistance, legal and immigration services
• South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre - Newcomer Settlement Program - Help eligible newcomers with immediate needs for settling in Canada so as to integrate them into the Canadian system
• ACFO de London-Sarnia – helps francophone immigrants settle in London through services such as finding housing, medical, social, legal and immigration services, and information on the evaluation of academic credentials
• YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin - offers settlement programs to new immigrants. We work with community partners to provide settlement counselling, referrals, interpretation, LINC, and can offer information on health, housing, immigration issues and much more. Phone 519-631-9800.
